During his career, he was promoted to the ranks of sergeant, then lieutenant and has earned a number of decorations, including the Distinguished Service Award, three Exemplary Service Awards, a Meritorious Service Award, and both the Red Cross and Presidential Merit Award for Life Saving.
Michael attended college and majored in the Administration of Criminal Justice at both Mount San Antonio College in Walnut and California State University at Los Angeles, graduating with honors from both institutions.
During the last four years of his law enforcement career, Michael was assigned to Technical Services Division Headquarters, where he acted as the Department’s “Technology Coordinator,” demonstrating both his flexibility and resourcefulness.
